The Sandman was quite awesome wasn't it? I kind of self-consciously tried to ape Neil Gaiman's style, simply because it doesn't seem right for a Sandman story to not be in his style, you know?
As for Roy being Dream's... well, he's only Dream's for that moment. I think he belongs more to Destruction at that point.
Well, in my mind, at this point, Roy was already dreaming of becoming Fuhrer and taking down Bradley, and that came first in his mind. Like, he wasn't Destruction's because he wasn't all that invested in the destruction he created. Also, Destruction doesn't really have anyone, since he's given up his duties. But yeah, I can see what you mean.
And ah, it's the old Dream! Not the new one!
Well, since FMA takes place in some nebulous other universe and stuff, and ostensibly pre-WWI (especially during the Ishbal War), I would think that it made more sense for it to be the old Dream. :p
